- He saved many lives during the 2019 Takshashila fire.
- His father now supports the family after his injury.

Seven years after the devastating Takshashila Arcade fire that claimed 22 young lives, one of its quiet heroes, Jatin Nakrani, is facing a profound personal struggle. Jatin, once a fashion design coaching class owner, sustained severe injuries in the May 24, 2019 fire. These injuries resulted in short-term memory loss, rendering him unable to work and forcing him to rely on his father.
Jatin's father, Bharat, a former diamond artisan, now drives a goods tempo to support the family, earning between Rs 300 and Rs 500 daily. During the fire, Jatin was instrumental in raising the alarm and assisting students on upper floors to escape the inferno. He rescued approximately 14 individuals before falling from the building, sustaining critical head and body injuries.
While Jatin has recovered physically to manage his daily routine, his memory loss persists, impacting his ability to function independently. The family notes he becomes easily agitated, a lingering psychological effect. Community support helped the Nakranis repay a Rs 40 lakh mortgage, but Jatin's ongoing condition presents a significant challenge.
