Emergency services rushed to the scene where the driver of the Polo, a 48-year-old woman, was sadly pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Qashqai, a 33-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with injuries and has since been discharged. She was also arrested in connection with a road traffic offense.

Anyone who was in the vicinity of the B981 between Cluny and Chapel junction around 11:10 PM on Friday, or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, is urged to come forward.
