A pursuit initiated by the Pierce County Sheriff's Office in Lakewood, Washington, concluded tragically with a fiery crash on Pacific Avenue South. The suspect, initially stopped for a traffic violation, fled from deputies, leading to a chase that involved the Washington State Patrol.
After a brief evasion and an attempt to disable a tracking device, the suspect sped off again, eventually crashing into multiple vehicles at the intersection of 110th Street South and Pacific Avenue South. One of the involved vehicles caught fire.
Four occupants from the victim vehicle, including two children, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A deputy was also injured during the incident and required hospitalization. The 22-year-old suspect was taken into custody following the crash. A firearm was observed in plain view within the suspect's vehicle, and they will be processed for driving under the influence.
