A tragic single-vehicle wreck early Saturday, June 6th, resulted in the death of a 19-year-old Hartselle man. Wenceslao Gonzalez Arroyo was pronounced deceased at the scene following the incident.
The fatal crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Hopewell Road, near Alabama 36, approximately three miles southwest of Hartselle. Gonzalez Arroyo was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup when the vehicle veered off the road.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the pickup truck overturned and collided with a tree. Authorities confirmed that Gonzalez Arroyo was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing.
