A tragic accident occurred Thursday morning in Winchester, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old man. The victim, identified as Jose Ibarra, was driving his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck when he collided with a street sweeper. The collision took place on the westbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway, near Prairie Loop Road, shortly after 6 a.m.
The impact was forceful, causing significant damage to the pickup truck, with part of its cab being sheared off. Emergency responders pronounced Mr. Ibarra deceased at the scene. Thankfully, no other individuals sustained injuries during the incident.
Authorities from the California Highway Patrol and the Menifee Police Department responded to the scene. The westbound lanes of Domenigoni Parkway were temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation and clear the debris. The roadway was reopened to traffic before 10:30 a.m.
