A devastating road accident near Tumby Bay on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula tragically claimed the life of a 64-year-old woman. The collision, which occurred on Wednesday morning on the Lincoln Highway, also left a 71-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. Both occupants of the Hyundai sedan involved in the crash were residents of Cleve.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:20 AM. The driver of the other vehicle, a 73-year-old man from Tumby Bay, was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.
Major Crash officers attended the intersection where the collision took place. The road remained closed for several hours, disrupting traffic. The incident marks the 13th road fatality in South Australia since the beginning of the year. Authorities are appealing for witnesses with dashcam footage to come forward.
