A 45-year-old man from Port St. Lucie tragically lost his life on August 10th following a tractor collision within a construction zone on Interstate 95. The incident occurred approximately one mile south of Gatlin Boulevard, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The victim, a dump truck driver, had exited his parked vehicle in the designated work area. At the time, a 38-year-old man from Royal Palm Beach was operating a Massey Ferguson tractor, equipped with a front-mounted rotary sweeper, southbound in a northbound lane of the closed work zone.
The tractor struck the 45-year-old man in the inside lane. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie, where he was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. The tractor driver, who was uninjured, was arrested on an outstanding warrant unrelated to this incident.
