Tragedy struck early Sunday morning near Spanaway when a motorcyclist was killed in a collision. The Washington State Patrol reported the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. on State Route 7 near 204th Street Southeast.
A 36-year-old man was traveling southbound on his motorcycle. At the same time, another vehicle was also proceeding south in the center lane. This car then made a U-turn.
The motorcycle rider was unable to avoid the turning vehicle, resulting in a fatal crash. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a 20-year-old, suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
