Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers are appealing for public assistance in locating a suspect involved in a critical hit-and-run incident. The crash, which occurred on May 23rd in Bethlehem Township, tragically resulted in the death of one person and serious injuries to another.
According to reports, 79-year-old Gregory Cutcher and a 69-year-old woman had stopped to remove a fallen tree from Hudson Drive. An unidentified vehicle, traveling eastbound, collided with the tree, forcefully pushing it into the pedestrians. The vehicle then fled the scene without stopping.
Mr. Cutcher, a resident of Navarre, was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but was later pronounced deceased. The female victim also suffered serious injuries and received hospital treatment. A third pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Investigators have gathered evidence, including video footage and debris analysis, but have yet to identify the vehicle, described as a small, light-colored four-door sedan or SUV (possibly white, silver, or gray).
