A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred near the Dhunela flyover on the Gurgaon-Sohna road, resulting in the death of Mahendar, a resident of Chaturpur Madhai village in Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place on October 5 as Mahendar was crossing the road.
He sustained injuries and was initially admitted to Acropolis Hospital in Sohna. From there, he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. His son, Jaipuri, was informed about the accident and took his father to the Delhi hospital, where Mahendar was declared deceased.
Information was first received by the Bhondsi police station on October 5. After receiving a written complaint from Jaipuri on October 6, the police registered a case against the unidentified vehicle driver. The case was filed under relevant sections of the BNS concerning rash driving and causing death due to negligence. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
