A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Monday, claiming one life and leaving another person in critical condition. The incident took place on southbound Highway 52 near Cannon Falls, Minnesota, a community situated approximately 40 miles southeast of Minneapolis.
The vehicle, a Mini Cooper, was traveling in the northbound lanes when the driver reportedly lost control. It subsequently rolled in the median ditch. The driver, aged 70 and from Eagan, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, also 70 and from Eagan, sustained injuries deemed life-threatening. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the precise cause of the crash. It has been confirmed that both occupants were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol is not believed to have contributed to the collision.
