While en route to dine, their 12-passenger van was forcefully struck by another vehicle, causing it to spin and crash into the median.
Despite the violent nature of the collision, which left the van's windows shattered and the vehicle totaled, no one in the Lafond family, including their youngest child born March 14, suffered serious injuries. All members were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The unidentified driver who caused the collision fled the scene immediately.
The incident is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. The family, known for documenting their large family life and having modeled for major brands, expressed their gratitude for being alive but questioned why the other driver did not stop to check on them. They are now working with their insurance company to navigate transportation without their van.
