The Ernakulam-Kumily Fast Passenger bus was supposed to depart at 11 pm, but the assigned driver did not turn up or inform the authorities until the last minute.
With no alternative transportation options available, the frustrated commuters quickly escalated the situation into a protest. The KSRTC authorities were finally compelled to address the crisis, but it took them over an hour and a half to successfully deploy another driver to operate the bus.
According to a senior KSRTC official, the original driver had informed them at the last minute that he was not feeling well, making it very difficult to arrange a replacement at such an odd hour. However, the authorities eventually managed to find another driver to operate the bus, albeit with a significant delay.
