A tragic incident in Trichy district resulted in the death of a 29-year-old electrician, identified as M Murugan, near Manapparai. The accident occurred on Tuesday night while Murugan was attempting to switch off an electric motor he had used for bathing outside his residence.
He reportedly came into contact with electricity while operating the motor. Despite immediate efforts by neighbours who rushed to his aid upon hearing a commotion, Murugan was found unconscious and could not be revived. The local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Thuvarankurichi police have registered a case under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, pertaining to unnatural deaths. An autopsy was conducted on the deceased's body at the Manapparai Government Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death.
