A man has been apprehended on suspicion of drug-driving after an e-scooter carrying two young girls was struck in West Sussex. The collision happened on Durrington Lane, Durrington, on Tuesday evening around 5:15 PM BST. The two girls, aged 11 and 13, who were riding the e-scooter as rider and passenger, were taken to hospital. They were treated for minor injuries and subsequently discharged.
The driver of the blue Ford Transit van involved in the incident, a 38-year-old man from Ealing, was arrested at the scene. He has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision to come forward.
