Wrong-Way Driver's Rampage Ends in Felony Charges

A serious wrong-way collision occurred on Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa when a 46-year-old man, allegedly intoxicated, drove his truck against traffic. This incident resulted in a rollover crash involving another vehicle, leaving a 21-year-old woman in critical but stable condition with life-threatening injuries. The suspect attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by officers. During subsequent processing at a local hospital, he became uncooperative, assaulting nursing staff and resisting law enforcement. He now faces charges including operating while intoxicated and battery to healthcare providers.

In a separate incident near the same location, another suspected intoxicated driver collided with a Wauwatosa police squad car that had its emergency lights activated. This second crash occurred while the initial scene was being managed and investigated by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
