The car continued at high speed, breaching the airport's perimeter wall near the Shanghumugham Air Force Station. Police apprehended the driver, Manu, at the scene and confirmed he was intoxicated based on his demeanor and breath odor.
Three passengers traveling in the car also sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital along with the motorcycle riders. Blood samples from the arrested driver were collected for further testing. Airport officials quickly secured the breach with metal sheeting, and additional police were deployed to maintain order and security.
