Dreo has announced a recall for its DR-HSH015 model space heater, identified as a 13-inch black ceramic electric unit with a remote control, priced at $100. This recall is prompted by reports of the device igniting, posing a fire risk to consumers. The issue is specifically linked to units manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026, which can be confirmed by a stamp on the device's bottom.
Dreo has received 17 reports detailing instances of the space heaters catching fire. These incidents have unfortunately resulted in property damage in three cases and a hand burn injury in one instance. The company estimates it has sold over 370,000 of these potentially hazardous heaters across the United States and Canada through major retailers like Home Depot, Best Buy, Kohl's, and Costco.
Consumers who own the recalled Dreo DR-HSH015 space heater are strongly advised to cease its use immediately. To ensure safety, they should disconnect the unit from its power source and physically destroy it by cutting the power cable. Following these steps, customers should contact Dreo directly to arrange for a complimentary replacement unit.
