Toronto firefighters executed a daring rescue, saving at least three dogs from a fully engulfed house fire on Madras Crescent. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon near Ellesmere and Scarborough Golf Club Road. Two residents were transported to the hospital for medical observation following the blaze.
Fire crews responded around 4:10 p.m. to the single detached home. Upon arrival, the residence was completely consumed by flames. The fire proved to be a difficult one to extinguish, described as "stubborn" by officials. Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene for approximately 24 hours to manage any remaining hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains under active investigation. While three dogs were safely rescued, three others are reported missing and may be in the surrounding neighborhood. The Toronto Humane Society has been informed of the situation.
