Dog bite leaves owner with permanent nose scarring
23 Nov
Summary
- Woman lost nose tip to beloved pet in unprovoked attack.
- Multiple surgeries reconstructed nose using forehead skin.
- Owner states no anger towards the dog post-incident.

A 31-year-old woman has shared her harrowing experience after her pet dog, King, bit off the tip of her nose in an unprovoked attack in January 2025. The incident required several reconstructive surgeries, including a procedure that used skin from her forehead to rebuild the damaged area. Despite the permanent scarring and the need for ongoing treatments like laser therapy, the owner holds no resentment towards King, whom she has owned for 11 years.
The sudden and violent attack occurred without any warning, leaving the woman to call for emergency services. Dog trainers suggested that alcohol consumption by humans can sometimes trigger aggressive behavior in dogs due to heightened senses. King, a Catahoula Leopard Dog, has since been trained and no longer sleeps in the same room as the couple, a measure implemented upon a professional trainer's advice.
While this was a shocking and life-altering event, the owner maintains that King remains a well-behaved dog she raised from a puppy. She emphasized that the attack was an isolated incident, and apart from the new sleeping arrangement, their relationship has not fundamentally changed. The incident also highlights a rise in other severe dog attack cases reported recently.
