Charcoal Grill Tragedy: Nepalese Workers Suffocate in Dharwad

A Nepalese national tragically died in Dharwad, India, after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning. The incident occurred at a rented house where a group of Nepalese workers resided. They had used a charcoal barbecue grill on the terrace and brought it inside their room for warmth overnight.

Investigators believe the accumulation of carbon monoxide gas in the closed room led to suffocation. Six other workers were found unconscious and rushed to the hospital, with some initially in critical condition. The situation came to light when the workers failed to report for duty.

While one worker, Bibek Paudel, was pronounced dead at the scene, the other six have since shown signs of recovery. Police are investigating the exact cause, and a case has been registered. Paudel had reportedly booked his travel ticket to return to Nepal on the day of the incident.
