On December 13, 2025, Paulding County deputies responded to a crash on Highway 278 in Hiram, finding Tim Gayton unresponsive and without a pulse due to sudden cardiac arrest. Deputies Tanner Hambrick and Christopher Resko immediately began hands-only CPR, successfully maintaining blood flow to Gayton's brain and heart.
Working alongside EMS crews, further life-saving measures including defibrillation were administered until Gayton regained a pulse. He was transported to Wellstar Paulding Medical Center for emergency surgery and, remarkably, was discharged two days later to spend the holidays with his family.
