A Delta flight experienced a serious pressurization issue on Sunday, September 6, leading to an emergency diversion. Delta Flight DL2311, traveling from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, was rerouted to Las Vegas.
During the flight, the aircraft rapidly lost altitude, dropping about 27,000 feet in approximately 10 minutes. Pilots descended to 9,000 feet to prevent hypoxia. Oxygen masks were deployed for the 174 passengers and six crew members aboard the Boeing 737-900.
The flight crew followed procedures to ensure the safety of everyone onboard. The aircraft landed safely in Las Vegas, and all passengers and crew were unharmed. Passengers were subsequently rebooked on a different flight to continue their journey to Salt Lake City.
This incident follows another Delta flight on Thursday, September 10, which also experienced a pressurization issue and had to return to its departure airport. No injuries were reported in that separate event either.
