The blaze, which began among household items, spread across the first, second, and third floors of the five-storey structure. Among those rescued were an 85-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy, highlighting the varied ages of those affected.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident shortly before 9:45 pm. Firefighting teams arrived promptly, deploying six tenders and approximately 35 firefighters to combat the flames. The fire was successfully extinguished by 11:10 pm. During the operation, a 32-year-old man named Pawan Kumar sustained moderate burn injuries, estimated between 25% to 30%, and received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital.
