In a dramatic rescue operation on November 14th, 2025, a team of experienced mountaineers saved a trekker who had slipped and was left dangling near the edge of a 150-meter-deep valley on the Chanderi Fort trail near Vangani-Badlapur region.
The trekker, identified as Abhay Pande, had lost his footing while attempting the challenging 700-meter Chanderi climb, which is known for its steep gradient and considered unsafe for beginners. Pande found himself clinging to only grass for support, precariously close to the edge of the valley.
Fortunately, a team of skilled climbers—Mihir Jadhav, Hemant Jadhav, Guru, Vishal Godde, and Ravi Pawar—happened to be present at the site as part of their preparations for the Giripremi Pune Mount Everest Expedition 2026. Quickly springing into action, Mihir anchored a rope to a rock and rappelled down to reach the stranded trekker. After securing Pande, the rest of the team used a descender to pull them both back up to safety.
