Tourist Dragged to Sea in Deadly Crocodile Attack

A devastating crocodile attack claimed the life of a 28-year-old tourist from Mexico City in Puerto Vallarta on Friday. The victim, identified as Irving, was on vacation with friends when the incident occurred.

Chris Bury and Jamie Yetter, an Orange County couple, witnessed the horrifying event as they were returning from a beach walk. They heard screams and rushed to find Irving being attacked in the water and pulled out to sea by a large crocodile.

Despite efforts to help, including attempts to reach the victim with a life preserver and a kayak, it was too late. Bury described the water as too murky to see the victim once he went under.

Yetter vividly recalled the crocodile's immense size, stating its head was as long as her torso and it was viciously turning the victim.

The body of the 28-year-old was recovered the following morning. Authorities successfully captured the crocodile implicated in the fatal assault.

Jalisco state officials have issued a stern reminder to the public to respect warning signs and stay out of waters where dangerous wildlife is present.
