A Tennessee couple, Tiffany and Tim McPherson, experienced a devastating event on June 4, when their food truck, TNT Tacos, exploded. This incident occurred mere hours before their planned 25th wedding anniversary.
Inside the truck at the time, Tiffany was thrown against a wall by the blast, while Tim was near the exit. He heroically returned to pull his wife to safety before they both escaped the vehicle. The couple sustained severe second- and third-degree burns.
They were immediately transported via airlift to a Nashville hospital. Their daughter reported that while they are alert and communicating, they are expected to remain hospitalized for several months, requiring numerous surgeries.
As of June 12, Tim had been released from the hospital but remained by Tiffany's side as she had another surgery scheduled. The community has rallied to support them, with a GoFundMe raising over $30,000 as of June 13 to assist with their medical bills and other expenses.
The suspected cause of the explosion is a propane leak, according to local authorities.
