The audio, recorded early Sunday morning, captures first responders describing the scene of the accident where Ponder's 2023 Tesla was found near Baseline Road in Boulder County.
Initial reports from dispatchers suggested a fire on the side of the road, possibly from a blown transformer. However, responders on-site corrected this, indicating the flames originated from the vehicle after it collided with a pole.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel confirmed one person was in the driver's seat of the heavily damaged Tesla. One responder noted the need for specialized tools for extrication. The scene also presented hazards, including a downed electric line and a small grass fire.
