Child Struck by Lightning Near Boynton Beach

On Sunday, August 23rd, paramedics responded to a 911 call reporting a lightning strike incident near Boynton Beach. The incident occurred in the afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. Crews from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue were dispatched to an address on Northwest 20th Avenue, close to the Sand and Sea Village neighborhood.

Upon arrival, first responders found a person under the age of 15 who met the criteria for pediatric trauma alert. This individual had been receiving first aid from bystanders at the scene. Paramedics then transported the child to a trauma center. The specific facility was not disclosed by the agency. There were no additional reports of injuries related to this event.
