A tragic house fire in Woodstock, NSW, claimed the life of a four-year-old child on Saturday afternoon. Emergency services were dispatched to the residence in the Central West region, approximately 22 kilometers northeast of Cowra, shortly before 3 PM. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a home already heavily engulfed in flames.
During the rescue efforts, a woman and two children were successfully evacuated from the burning structure. The woman received treatment at Cowra Hospital for smoke inhalation and was reported to be in a stable condition. Tragically, the four-year-old child was not among those who escaped.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and subsequently discovered the body of the child within the destroyed home. The New South Wales Police have since established a crime scene. Authorities have stated that inquiries into the specific circumstances surrounding the fire are currently ongoing as they investigate the incident.
