Tragedy Strikes: Missing Child Found in Retention Pond

A tragic incident unfolded in Lake in the Hills on Wednesday evening when a 7-year-old child, reported missing by their family, was found deceased. The child had last been seen by relatives a short time before the initial report. Emergency services were dispatched to Steeplechase Way shortly before 6 p.m. following the report of the missing youngster.
First responders located the child in a nearby retention pond. An officer immediately began administering CPR until paramedics arrived on the scene. The child was then rushed to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. Sadly, medical professionals pronounced the child dead.
As of Friday, the circumstances surrounding the child's death remain under investigation. However, authorities have stated that foul play is not suspected in connection with the incident. The identity of the child has not yet been released to the public.
