Chicago Police Hurt in Chatham Crash

Two Chicago police officers sustained minor injuries during an overnight crash in the city's Chatham neighborhood. The incident occurred shortly after midnight when officers were traveling in a marked police squad car.

Their vehicle was struck by a southbound blue sport-utility vehicle while crossing the Dan Ryan Expressway. The impact caused the police car to then collide with a silver van that was stopped at the intersection.

Both injured officers were transported to an area hospital and reported to be in good condition. The driver of the blue SUV involved in the collision was issued traffic citations.
