Ropeway Tragedy: 1 Dead, 6 Injured in Chhattisgarh Temple Descent

A tragic incident unfolded in Chhattisgarh's Mahasamund district on Sunday when a ropeway trolley carrying devotees to a hilltop temple crashed, killing one woman and injuring six others. The accident happened around 10 am as the trolley was descending.
Officials reported that the trolley fell approximately 200 to 300 feet. The victims were en route to offer prayers at the Khallari Mata temple, a popular shrine accessible by ropeway or by climbing nearly 900 steps.
The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Ayushi Satkar from Raipur. Six others, including her husband and a minor relative, sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital. Four of the injured were subsequently referred to Raipur for advanced medical care.
Following the crash, another trolley carrying about 10 passengers was immediately brought back to the base as a precautionary measure. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep sorrow over the incident and ordered a thorough investigation to identify those responsible.
