Stray Cattle Cause Fatal Crash Near Chennai

A devastating road accident on Mannivakkam-Adhanur Road near Guduvanchery resulted in the deaths of two motorcyclists and serious injuries to three women. The incident unfolded late Friday night when a private van, reportedly speeding, collided with two cows that suddenly crossed the road.
The van then veered out of control, impacting a goods autorickshaw and two motorcycles. Tragically, two individuals, identified as Assistant Engineer Rajkumar (52) and Venkatesan (58), died at the scene. Their wives, Sandhya and Savitha, respectively, along with another pedestrian named Mythili, were among those critically injured.
Manimangalam police responded swiftly, ensuring the injured received prompt medical care at Potheri and Tambaram Government Hospital. Post-mortem examinations were conducted on the deceased. The two cows involved in the accident also perished. Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of this fatal multi-vehicle collision.
