Summary
- Paraplegic fundraiser Claire Lomas died after a microlight crash in Jordan.
- She was filming flight footage for an Apple Vision Pro headset series.
- The coroner ruled her death on August 22, 2024, as accidental.

A coroner has concluded that the death of paraplegic charity fundraiser Claire Lomas was accidental. Ms. Lomas, 44, tragically passed away on August 22, 2024, more than five weeks after a microlight crash in Jordan on July 15, 2024. She had been flying a specially adapted aircraft while filming footage for an Apple series commissioned for its Vision Pro headset.
The inquest heard that the aircraft "veered off the runway" and collided with rocks after Ms. Lomas attempted to abort a landing. Senior coroner Louise Pinder officially recorded the death as accidental on August 23, 2026, stating there was no causal link between risk assessment deficiencies and the incident.
Ms. Lomas, who became paralyzed from the chest down in a 2007 horse riding accident, was a prominent fundraiser and motivational speaker. She had obtained a microlight license several years prior to the crash. Her family continues to mourn her loss deeply, emphasizing the profound void left by her passing.
