On the evening of November 12, 2025, a crowd surge during singer Shreya Ghoshal's live concert at the Bali Jatra ground in Cuttack, India, led to a chaotic situation. The incident took place on the concluding day of the week-long trade fair, where thousands of people had gathered to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood playback singer.

As Ghoshal appeared for her performance, the crowd reportedly pushed against the barricades, triggering a brief stampede-like situation. Eyewitnesses said the sudden rush caused panic among attendees, with some collapsing due to suffocation and exhaustion. Police and emergency personnel quickly intervened, and the programme was temporarily halted before resuming once order was restored.

Authorities have since heightened vigilance around the venue, which draws lakhs of visitors each year to celebrate Odisha's centuries-old maritime legacy. The Cuttack Police Commissioner, S Dev Datta Singh, denied reports of a major mishap, stating that "one person sustained a minor injury and is stable." He added, "There was indeed a huge crowd, but it was managed properly."
