A fatal road accident occurred on Saturday evening near Lalganj on the Buxar-Itadhi main road, claiming the life of 25-year-old Vikas Mishra and critically injuring his father, Shivaji Mishra. The two were returning home on their motorcycle after closing their clothing shop when a speeding pickup truck collided with them. The impact threw both riders from the motorcycle, causing severe injuries.
Locals rushed the injured to Sadar Hospital, where Vikas Mishra was pronounced dead during treatment. His father, Shivaji Mishra, whose condition remained critical, was subsequently referred to Varanasi for specialized medical care. Police from the Muffasil station have begun an investigation into the incident, sending the deceased's body for a postmortem examination.
Authorities are making efforts to identify and apprehend the driver of the pickup truck, who fled the scene immediately after the accident. Investigations include gathering information from local residents and reviewing available CCTV footage along the route to aid in tracing the vehicle and the perpetrator.
