Goa Hotel Heart Attack: Tamil Businessman Dies

A 55-year-old businessman from Tamil Nadu has died of a heart attack while staying at a hotel in Nagoa, Arpora, Goa. The deceased has been identified as Muruganandam Shanmugam, originally from Nagapattinam.
Shanmugam had traveled to Goa with friends on September 17. The incident came to light on September 19 when police were alerted. Investigators learned that after a night of alleged alcohol consumption, Shanmugam and a friend went to sleep on the night of September 18.
Shanmugam was discovered lying motionless in the hotel room early on September 19 by his friend, who then contacted emergency services. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. A postmortem examination at Goa Medical College confirmed the cause of death as acute myocardial infarction.
Enquiries revealed Shanmugam had a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Police have registered an unnatural death case but suspect no foul play.
