A business owner in Essex is confronting severe financial difficulties following a significant explosion that occurred on July 24th. The incident at Highlands Farm involved over 100 firefighters tackling a blaze that led to a large explosion at a fertilizer store. Tony Brazao, owner of Coral Passion, reported substantial losses including "several hundred" fish, shrimp, and coral.
The property sustained damage to its wall and power supply. Brazao estimates the repair and replacement costs to be "well into six figures." However, his insurance company, MSIG, has allegedly been unwilling to pay more than £15,000.
Brazao expressed deep concern about the future, stating, "We survived the explosion but are we going to survive the aftermath?" The insurance firm declined to comment on specific cases but assured that all concerns are "considered carefully."
