A British expatriate, identified as 54-year-old Pete Jackson, was found deceased on the sixth floor of a Benidorm hospital. He tragically lost his life after suffocating when he became trapped in a gap containing electrical cables. This space was situated between a patio wall and a metal platform within the hospital installations.
Jackson, who had been living and working in Benidorm for nearly three years, had reportedly discharged himself from the hospital on February 7th while still undergoing treatment. His wife, Shirley Ebbs, raised the alarm after discovering he was missing from his room. Initial searches of the hospital proved fruitless, and his body was eventually found on February 11th.
While initial suspicions pointed towards electrocution due to his proximity to cables, a post-mortem examination confirmed that suffocation was the cause of death. Authorities believe Jackson may have gotten into difficulties while trying to retrieve personal items.
