Two young boys, aged 11 and 12, were airlifted from Matthiessen State Park in Illinois on Friday, May 29, following an incident involving roughhousing. The boys were part of a school field trip with over 50 students from Chicago.
Authorities responded to the park around 12:45 p.m. after one of the boys became unconscious due to inhaling water. An adult chaperone administered CPR while awaiting first responders, who arrived approximately 15 minutes later. The boys were conscious and alert upon their arrival but showed signs of shock and distress.
