Tragedy struck in Bhojpur on Wednesday evening when a 9-year-old boy, Pratik Kumar, was fatally struck by a speeding truck. The incident occurred as Pratik was en route to a local market to pick up his birthday cake.
The accident took place in Ghaghar village, within the jurisdiction of Krishnagarh police station. Despite efforts to transport him to the hospital, Pratik succumbed to his injuries on the way.
Enraged by the tragic death, villagers gathered and blocked the Saraiya-Sinha Road, protesting the incident. The blockade was eventually lifted after intervention from senior police officers.
Authorities have arrested the truck driver involved in the accident and have seized the vehicle. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
