An eight-year-old boy, Louie Isaac Webster, tragically lost his life after being kicked in the head by a horse at The Beeches Livery Centre in Warrington. Louie was at the center with his mother and sister when he entered a fenced-off arena without supervision.
His mother had briefly gone to their car to get him a drink. While she was gone for only a few minutes, Louie entered the arena and approached an ex-racehorse. The horse, startled by Louie stroking its belly, kicked out with its back legs.
Despite immediate CPR from bystanders and the efforts of emergency services, Louie was taken to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, where he later died. A Cheshire Coroner's Court inquest concluded that Louie's death was accidental, noting his behavior was challenging due to suspected ADHD.
