A military Hercules C-130 cargo plane crashed on Friday near El Alto, a city adjacent to Bolivia's capital, La Paz. The aircraft was carrying 18 tons of newly printed Bolivian banknotes from Santa Cruz when it veered off the runway after landing. The crash resulted in a devastating toll of 22 fatalities and 29 injuries, with many of the injured being passengers of public transportation hit by the plane's debris.
