BMW Plunges 70 Feet: Driver Had Prior Cases

A devastating accident on the Coastal Road flyover in Mumbai resulted in the deaths of three young individuals early Sunday morning. Shanay Gajjar, 21, who was driving a family-owned BMW, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plummet approximately 70 feet from the flyover near Lotus Jetty.
Gajjar, along with passengers Dhairya Sheth, 17, and Aditya Jaskania, 19, were declared deceased at the scene. The victims were reportedly from Ahmedabad. Another occupant, Aditya Oswal, 23, survived the horrific fall but sustained multiple injuries and is currently receiving hospital treatment.
Investigations revealed that Shanay Gajjar had a prior record involving city police. In March, a case was filed by Gamdevi police for dangerous driving. Just last month, Bandra police registered a case against Gajjar and three friends for allegedly engaging in a drunken brawl and obstructing a public servant. The BMW was reportedly speeding on the northbound carriageway when the fatal crash occurred.
Tardeo police have since registered a case against Gajjar for causing death by negligence, rash driving, and dangerous driving. CCTV footage indicated the car was traveling at high speed, with the impact being so severe that one victim was ejected a significant distance from the vehicle. Gajjar was found with his leg still on the accelerator, partially inside the wreckage.
