Drone footage has captured the extensive damage following a significant fire at a commercial property in Blackpool. The incident occurred on Waterloo Road, with emergency services called to the scene around 23:30 GMT on Friday. Fifteen fire engines were deployed, and crews continued their efforts into Saturday morning.
Smart Play Blackpool, an indoor play area, has been declared "completely destroyed" by the fire, leaving its owners devastated. Images from the scene show the gutted remains of the building. Some residents from nearby homes were evacuated during the incident.
Local MP Chris Webb stated he was assisting evacuated residents by securing accommodation, food, and other essential items. Support was also extended to a rough sleeper in the vicinity. The neighboring furniture store, Smart Mart Blackpool, confirmed that no individuals were harmed and expressed gratitude to the attending emergency services for their swift response.
