Bhumi Pednekar Rallies Support for Flood-Hit Assam

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar has made an urgent appeal for support for Assam, which is currently experiencing devastating floods. As of July 24, the crisis had impacted over 7.21 lakh individuals across 11 districts, with several major rivers exceeding their danger marks. The scale of destruction is immense, with reports of entire villages being swept away and significant loss of life and property.

In a video shared on Instagram, Pednekar underscored the severity of the situation, noting that more than 7.5 lakh people have been displaced and the death toll is rising. She conveyed the heartbreaking reality faced by the affected communities, whose homes and belongings have been lost.

Pednekar drew upon past instances of national unity during crises, such as the support shown for Punjab, Jammu, Bihar, and Maharashtra in previous years. She expressed faith in the country's capacity for community service and stressed that Assam now requires similar assistance.

She specifically called for donations to provide essential relief items, including food, mattresses, sanitation supplies, and aid for evacuation efforts. Highlighting the emotional toll of the disaster, Pednekar urged everyone to contribute generously and help spread the message to ensure aid reaches those in need in Assam.
