Bengaluru is set to experience widespread power disruptions between December 14th and December 19th due to essential maintenance by BESCOM. These outages, occurring on a rotational basis, will affect numerous areas across the city, with some experiencing power cuts from 10 am to 6 pm, while others may face an extended disruption of up to 12 hours daily.
The primary focus of this maintenance is on power plants and substations, alongside an effort to increase the transformer capacity at the Byadarahalli power disruption center. Affected localities range from Bangalore Road and Prabhakar Layout to Madeshwaranagar and Herohalli, impacting thousands of residents. BESCOM has also noted ongoing work related to shifting power lines and transformers obstructing development, which has been ongoing since December 10th and will continue until December 20th.
