Summary
- Passenger entered tracks at Indiranagar station for a dropped token.
- Purple Line services experienced a 10-minute delay.
- Emergency systems activated; passenger safely rescued.

On Friday morning, a passenger entering the tracks at Bengaluru's Indiranagar Metro station caused a 10-minute delay to Purple Line services. The incident occurred around 9:22 am when a 20-year-old man, traveling for the first time, descended onto the tracks to retrieve a dropped token.
Emergency safety systems, including the Emergency Trip System and Emergency Stop Plunger, were immediately activated. The passenger was safely rescued by security personnel and handed over to Metro staff. This disruption also led to the regulation of a few Green Line trains to prevent overcrowding at the Kempegowda Majestic Interchange Station.
Normal train services on both the Purple and Green lines were restored by 9:40 am. The incident highlights the ongoing safety concerns, as none of the Namma Metro stations are currently equipped with platform screen doors.
