A beach restaurant in Sainte-Maxime, located on the French Riviera, experienced a partial roof collapse on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM at the Les P'tits Galets establishment, affecting customers seated on the terrace.
The lightweight roof gave way unexpectedly, prompting a significant emergency response. Fifteen individuals who were dining at the time required treatment from emergency services on-site. While five customers suffered minor injuries, several others were reportedly in a state of shock following the traumatic event.
Approximately 50 firefighters were dispatched to the scene, supported by nine ambulances and various other emergency vehicles. Law enforcement and medical services, including the Saint-Tropez SMUR, also assisted in the major rescue operation. The affected section of the restaurant has since been partially closed.
